Zopticam recommends using the open source Red5 Flash Streaming server for the flash streaming aspect of your website. This Red5 solution is fully customizable, isused by Facebook as well as other big name video providers, and has been found to deliver superior results. Adobe's Flex and Flash technologies will be used for the webcam integration, user and performer side of the interaction.

It is recommended that a dedicated server be purchased for a flash streaming website, however if interested the Zopti staff can set this up on one of our shared servers. If requested, the Flash Media Server - FMS Streaming can be purchased from Adobe with a licensing fee of $1,000. This technology is more mainstrean, and can accomplish the same function as the Red5 solution. Any hosting solution must be equipped with PHP5, MySQL5, Apache or an alternative Linux Webserver, Linux, and FFMPEG for video/image management and conversions.
